Fridays are hard. It's the last of five long days spent sitting bent over a laptop in the C-shape for eight hours at a time (lunch breaks optional). Luckily, thanks to MINI, FLY and Urbis Design Day, we're here to perk up your Friday slog with a last-minute giveaway package worth $450.

To help round off the week right, we're giving away a six tickets to Urbis Design Day (worth $150 in total) and a framed limited edition MINI + FLY screen print ($150) - with framing of your choice by Momentum Art Gallery ($150).

Urbis Design Day is, as the name promises, a day filled with exceptional designs to inspire those part of the creative community as well as those who just happen to appreciate good design. Exhibitions include BMD-designed dog houses, a fusion creation by Autex and Ctrl Space and, of course, an installation by MINI and FLY.

MINI invited FLY to be MINI's creative partner for Design Day in early 2015, working hard to deliver their screen print installation at the MINI Garage, titled Design In Tension. The five-piece installation is a aesthetic manifestation of the harmony created by tension. The folk at MINI and FLY believe that creative tension (between delivering functionality and aesthetic beauty) produces rhythm and motion, freedom and release, focus and flow - the foundations of all creative masterpieces.

These elements can be seen in Walter Hansen's screen print which has various multilayered visual stories that converge into one central theme. The design installation that Hansen and FLY created is made up of five layers, each celebrating the new MINI 5 Door Hatch. In fitting those five layers into one piece Walter had to "consult a mate who's a mathmagician to do the scale calculations for me — he didn't even need a calculator, and he drew triangles and calculations like the ones from Good Will Hunting." Urbis Design Day runs this Saturday the 21st March from 10am to 5pm. The MINI Garage Design in Tension installation in Newmarket is one of the stops on the Design Day tour.
