Beck's – a beer internationally entrenched in the worlds of music and art – is getting behind a Kiwi band for the release of its first album.

Ghost Wave is an Auckland-based indie band that finds itself somewhere between the Flying Nun bands of the eighties, the British explosion of the sixties and the wayfaring dubs of Lee 'Scratch' Perry. This enigmatic quartet comprises Matt (guitar, vocals), Eammon (drums, percussion), Mike (bass, vocals) and Jamie (guitar, tambourine).

Self-described as being inspired by "skate vids, Persian rugs and Little Richard," the Ghost Wave sound has an exceptional vibe that's grown the band a zealous set of fans that avidly follow its new music.

This year, Beck's will be supporting, following and documenting the journey of Ghost Wave as it releases its first album, called Ages, working alongside Ghost Wave to produce a music video for a single, document the band's experiences at the Denton 35 and SXSW music festivals in the States, and develop artwork for the cover of its new album.

Beck's has engaged six designers to each put together three pieces of work inspired by Ghost Wave's album. Each design will feature as a Beck's art label on a limited-edition range of bottles, and Ghost Wave will choose one to also feature as its album cover art.
