Overview

Ardberg - one of Scotland's oldest, most awarded and most respected distilleries is celebrated annually and worldwide on this day. Enthusiasts regale drinkers with tales of the distilleries beginnings when smugglers dodged excise men to transport barrels of precious Ardberg and attendants browse a library of whiskey to try, buy and sample.

Several locals of the island of Islay claim that Ardberg Night is "better than Christmas", a statement which may be reputable as there is far more whiskey involved. Hosted in two of Ardberg's New Zealand embassies, The Jefferson and Sam Snead's House Of Whiskey, the event coincides with the release of new Ardberg Dark Cove, the distillery's darkest drop yet and a tribute to its murky beginnings. So pop along to celebrate one of Scotland's greatest distilleries and be the first in the world to pick up a bottle of Dark Cove while enjoying whiskey-paired canapes, games and prizes.
