Overview

Wanaka-based ambient-soul electronic duo Arma Del Amor are escaping the deep South for the tropical Auckland climate, as the band embarks on their first national tour celebrating the release of an EP that’s been two years in the making.

Arma Del Amor is Martine Harding and Danny Fairley, whose shared appreciation for electronic music has manifested into two digital EPs and countless live shows across New Zealand since forming a little over two years ago. Self-described as “a blend of soulful hypnotic vocals over dreamy pads and chest swelling bass”; you’ll hear parallels to musicians that inspire the duo, namely Shapeshifter, Bonobo, Little Dragon and The XX. Accompanied on tour by their recently recruited drummer Ricky Simmonds, expect a vibrant stage presence, graphic lighting and pulsating live sound.

Joining Arma Del Amor on their migration North are a contingent of Wellington based DJs Dam-G, Lydia and STX, while supporting act Village Bones have recently begun making waves in Auckland.

Entry at Cassette Nine by door sale only, $5 before 10pm, $10 after. The first DJ hits the decks at 9pm. Familiarise yourself with Arma Del Amor’s self-titled EP on Spotify or Bandcamp.
