Overview

Basement Theatre is celebrating the Auckland Fringe Festival by showcasing an eclectic and fresh lineup of local and international artists, working across a variety of disciplines and mediums. Both the main stage in the Basement and its studio space will be packed with shows from March 1-11, offering up a smorgasbord of artistic expression.

The diverse program includes artists engaging in cross-artform experimental pieces, theatrical plays, choreographic works, and a 'Performance Salon' showcasing young creatives finding their artistic feet. Performances include We May Have To Choose, a solo piece fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe that bravely journeys through the subconscious mind; 21 Movements, a series of choreography responding to defining events of the 21st Century; and Power Ballad, a new feminist piece by Julia Croft who's last solo show If There's Not Dancing at the Revolution, I'm Not Coming greeted widespread critical acclaim.

Head to the festival website to read more about all of the shows on offer, and immerse yourself in the rich and diverse world of Basement Theatre Fringe.
