Overview

Bic Runga and Hollie Fullbrook of Tiny Ruins hit the road together on a nationwide tour last year, a winning combination that included a sell out Auckland show. With Bic and Hollie frequently appearing in sessions together, one imagines it required little temptation to get the pair to reunite for a special one-off show at the Auckland Zoo.

Bic Runga is a household name with swag of accomplishments and contributions to New Zealand music. She’ll be playing the Auckland Zoo Band Rotunda with band member Kody Nielson (Silicon) to perform a selection of gems from her lengthy back catalogue and new material from her forthcoming fifth album.

Hollie Fullbrook and her band Tiny Ruins have won over a legion of fans, including the inimitable David Lynch. The band have toured internationally with the likes of Sharon Van Etten, Calexico and The Handsome Family and recently collaborated with David Kilgour. Their most recent album was awarded Best Alternative Album at the 2014 NZ Music Awards, proving Fullbrook and Tiny Ruins’ Alex Freer and Cass Basil have talent in spades and plenty of gas in the tank.

Bic Runga and Tiny Ruins will perform individually and together in the historical outdoor environment. Gates open at 5pm, with plenty of time to explore the Zoo and set up a picnic blanket before the show.
