Overview

Add a little education to your boozing this May 5 as Mexico and Jose Cuervo team up to bring Margarita Masterclasses to Auckland.

Stacked with limes, salt and all the good stuff, Mexico masters will lead classes at their restaurants in Takapuna, Britomart, Sylvia Park, Ponsonby and Ellerslie, where you'll learn a touch of national history served up with those fine Mexico flavours and a lot about making a damn fine margarita.

A celebration of unity, culture and all things Mexican, Cinco de Mayo (which literally means the fifth of May) honours the 'David and Goliath' tale, where in 1862, a Mexican army fought back an attack from French forces three times their size.

Classes last for two hours, so even your buddy with the shortest attention span can join as you are guaranteed to come away with bellies full of delicious Mexico food, the best cocktails and certainly a little enlightenment to show off at your next fiesta.

For those who miss out on tickets, the restaurant is also serving a set menu. For $35 you'll enjoy a spiced calabaza taquito, pineapple and guajillo braised pork belly tacos, and tres leches pastel for dessert.
