Devonstock

Talent scout the next Lorde.

Overview

Devonport is without a doubt one of the most fertile breeding grounds for New Zealand music; the suburb can lay claim to Lorde, The Checks, and The Veils to name just a few.

For several years now Devonstock has been one of the key spots for young musos to cut their teeth and it returns in 2015 with a mix of seasoned talent and future stars. Lorde played here before she was Lorde, and The Naked and Famous played here before they were anything that remotely resembled famous.

On the bill are psychedelic-soul boys Brendan Thomas and The Vibes who looked a little out of place on the pop-centric X-Factor. The trio will be right at home playing an afternoon set at Windsor Reserve. Also included are funk-soul combo Dukebox, the spooky rock of Quinn The Human, up-and-coming alt-popsters Tuggs, Amelia McNabb and brand new trio Oak.

Windsor reserve is just a hop, skip and jump from the ferry building. The event is alcohol and smoke-free, it's free to get in, and there will be local food and market stalls.
