Overview

An American artist with an American last name that sounds like a plausible Maccas order, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Eleanor Friedberger is coming to New Zealand for a one-off show.

Friedberger is best known for being the other half of Fiery Furnaces with her brother Matthew, but after a hiatus in 2011, has released three solo albums - Last Summer, Personal Record and New View.

New View was released earlier this year with critical acclaim, Pitchfork stating that "the record's no-fuss, featherlight acoustic pop songs weave into one another seamlessly, Friedberger's melodies familiar and redolent of artists like Harry Nilsson and Neil Young without playing like nostalgia."

Eleanor Friedberger will be supported by the glorious Aldous Harding.
