Overview

Fly My Pretties is an enduring local legend, a collective of established and undiscovered musical talents, collaborating and writing music to be performed live onstage. Greedily devoured by captivated audiences throughout New Zealand and abroad, the platinum-selling albums produced by the collective are testament to the diverse and talented lineup of musicians drawn from bands including Trinity Roots, The Phoenix Foundation, Kora and The Black Seeds. Playing just one North Island show, Fly My Pretties take the stage at the Auckland Zoo band rotunda as part of the Summer Series of concerts which invite New Zealand’s top musicians to delight audiences in a unique outdoor environment.

Proceeds from ticket sales go towards the wildlife work and development at the zoo, and for this edition of the series, Fly My Pretties will be highlighting the conservation work required for New Zealand’s native coastal birds. Audiences are invited to bring along a picnic dinner, and kids under 5 gain free admission with adult tickets purchased. With gates open from 5pm, go for a quick whip around the zoo, before settling in for an outstanding evening of music performed by a fifteen-strong band of stellar Kiwi musicians.

Joining Barnaby Weir will be Anna Coddington, Bailey Wiley, Holly Arrowsmith, Iraia Whakamoe (The Nudge), Jarney Murphy (The Black Seeds), Kara Gordon, Laughton Kora, Mara TK (Electric Wire Hustle), Mel Parsons, Mike Fabulous (Lord Echo), Nigel Patterson (The Black Seeds), Ria Hall, Ryan Prebble (The Nudge), Shaun Blackwell (Night Shades).
