Overview

Combining neo soul, spiritual ideals, and a bohemian attitude born in innercity Melbourne, Hiatus Kaiyote will play to a New Zealand audience for the first time this September. Led by majestic frontwoman, Nai Palm and with fans that include Questlove, Erykah Badu, and world renowned tastemaker Giles Peterson, a live performance by Hiatus Kaiyote promises to be a rather special occasion in a land that adores music of this ilk.

Hiatus Kaiyote were nominated for a Grammy in 2013 for Best R&B performance for their song "Nakamarra", performed with Q-Tip. However, the band still seem to float in that area just below widespread mainstream success. With a recent performance on Jimmy Kimmel this half-fame may well be short lived.

They come to New Zealand on the back of the May release of Choose Your Weapon which has been received by similar critical praise as their debut Tawk Tomohawk.
