Overview

It's that time once again to shake out the picnic blanket, clean the chilly bin and hone your beverage concealment skills as Auckland Council's free outdoor concert series Music in Parks swings into town.

Every weekend (and two Fridays), from January through March, a run of free events will take place across the city. A line-up of 70+ local acts will play all the series favourites including Summer Sounds, Jazz at the Rotunda, The Culture Garden, The Tea Dances and Movies in Parks.

Highlights of the line-up include: ten-piece big band Sal Valentine and The Babyshakes supported by Motor City Family Funk and Hipstamatics at Pt Chevalier's Coyle Park; sun soaked pop singer Jamie McDell alongside Josh Leys, Kaitlin Riegel, Sam Allen and Ezra Vine at Takapuna Beach; former Midnight Youth frontman Jeremy Redmore with manufactured boy band Titanium and Gemma Copas in Albany; the NZ Opera in St Heliers and bogan-rock band Devilskin with The Feelers and Black River Drive.
