Overview

American six-piece folk/indie pop band Phox formed after a chance meeting in their hometown of Baraboo, Wisconsin. Their odd-end backgrounds naturally led to an eclectic sound that mixes everything from rock, psychedelia, soul, pop and folk, brought to life through a multitude of instrument and airy vocals.

The band released their debut EP Confetti in early 2013, creating an accompanying music video for each track. The release led to a wave of success including a spot at Lollapalooza and iTunes festivals, and supporting The Lumineers. They were even labelled as the "musical success story of 2013."

The band is led by frontwoman Monica Martin and also features multi-instrumentalists Matt Holmen, Jason Krunnfusz, Dave Roberts, Matteo Roberts and Zach Johnston. They perform as part of the Auckland Arts Festival.
