Overview

To mark the release of their first ever proper music video, Auckland big band Sal Valentine & The Babyshakes will take the stage at Britomart’s 1885.

Led by multi-talented musician and composer Ivan Luketina-Johnston (aka Sal Valentine), the ten-piece band are best known for their raucous, contemporary take on rhythm and blues. Unlike similar bands, SV&TB's tracks regularly come slapped with a 'Parental Advisory' label due to occasionally blasphemous lyrics. Recommended tracks include ‘Drink Until I Pass Out’ and ‘Everybody Get Loose’.

Their latest single ‘Champagne’ comes off the six-track EP Live At No. 10 South Street, which (as the title suggests) was recorded entirely live at 10 South Street by engineering stalwart Gary Potts.

The video for the track was filmed in the 1885 Basement by Alexander Hoyles. On the night, the video will screen at 10:30pm, with the band taking the stage directly afterwards. Support from Dylan Cherry, Marina Katerina and DJ Ultan Burke.
