Overview

Stutterpop is the performing debut of Sam Brooks, a stutterer and an award-winning playwright.

As well as taking his talents from paper to the stage, the one-man show will see Brooks turns his focus inwards, detailing his screw-ups with men and his approach to his own stutter with characteristic rawness, self-depreciating wit, and a whole lot of lip synching.

With his dab hand at playwriting, Brooks has previously been named Auckland's Most Exciting Playwright by Metro Magazine, taken out Wellington's Playmarket's Playwrights Awards two years in a row, and been nominated for a Chapman Tripp Award for Outstanding New Playwright.

Following the February 12 performance of Stutterpop will be a question and answer session with the man himself.
