Overview

The World’s Biggest Waterslide is making its return to West Auckland, this time with an official tick of approval from Guinness.

New Zealanders first got to test out the mammoth slide in 2013 in Waimauku. A purpose built 600m inflatable slide was created for the 2015 edition, before the slide was moved state-side and gained an official certification as ‘The World’s Longest Waterslide’.

As well as being a brilliant way to spend your afternoon, the slide is an initiative by charity Live More Awesome who seek to increase awareness about mental health – extremely pertinent when one in four Kiwis suffer from depression. The organisation is run by dedicated followers of the “live more awesome” mantra, Jimi Hunt and Dan Drupsteen, both who have suffered at the hands of depression. Proceeds raised by the fundraiser will be used to make a difference to the way New Zealanders perceive mental health.

The slide will be back at Jonkers Farm from February 12 – 14, 2016, with 950 tickets up for grabs. Those who miss out can work towards one of 200 golden tickets available for the top 200 fundraisers. As well as the big slide there will be performances from a lineup of local musicians, DJs and performers. Wellness workshops will also take place throughout the day.
