Overview

There's no question that New Zealand is a wine loving nation. Every year the country's 700-odd wine producers pump out around 250,000 tonnes of the good stuff, ranking us among the top twenty thirstiest wine consumers in the universe.

In line with our bent for a good drop, this May a wine tasting event to rule them all will take over the Auckland waterfront. Curated by the folks that bring us Restaurant Month, Street Eats and A Taste of Auckland, the suitably-titled Winetopia will give the public an opportunity to dive in amongst some of our very best and realise that there's more to wine varietals than sub-$10 cleanskins and supermarket goon.

The two days of consumption at Shed 10 will champion all major wine producing regions in New Zealand, as well as feature sommelier-led tasting classes, food matching and live music. As well as onsite tastings, attendees will have the option to purchase takeaway bottles or cases to enjoy later at home.

There are three different sessions to attend:
Friday 20 May: 5pm - 8.30pm
Saturday 21 May: 12pm - 3.30pm
Saturday 21 May: 4.30pm - 8pm

The first release of $20 tickets includes five wine tastings + a wine glass.
