Overview

Despite residing in different corners of the world - Christchurch x New York x Paris - dream-pop trio Yumi Zouma somehow managed to pull together one of the greatest introductory EPs of 2014. The self-titled debut gained instant attention from Brooklyn-based label Cascine, glowing praise from Pitchfork and The Guardian, and saw the group enjoy a ride on the European summer touring circuit. Keeping the momentum, they dropped their second EP in March this year and have been busy polishing their live show with a run of US dates. The upcoming shows will most likely be their only in New Zealand for the year.

Six-piece trip hop act Doprah hail from Christchurch, alike many of their touring pals. Last year, the group released their debut EP which saw them receive an invitation to perform at the CMJ Music Marathon in New York as well as Laneway and Rhythm and Vines festivals. Their kawaii-inspired video for single ‘Stranger People’ attracted hoards of online attention and even saw the group labelled as the country’s “Next Art-Pop Star” by Spin magazine.
