The arduous duty of a weekend Macca's run may soon be a thing of the past, as fast food conglomerate McDonald's confirms McDelivery will be trialled in Auckland. Branches in New Lynn and Glenfield are set to be the first "restaurants" in the country to test the service that aims to make convenience food even more convenient.

Since launching in the United States in 1993, McDelivery has expanded to several other countries throughout Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. The trial in New Zealand reportedly comes off the back of high demand and members of the community apparently not wanting to be seen stuffing their face in public.

From today, customers in West Auckland suburb New Lynn will be able to receive items from the core menu directly to their door by visiting menulog.co.nz. The North Shore service will kick into action next week. Delivery will be available between 5 - 10:30pm, seven days a week and minimum order and delivery fee will also apply.
