To mark the arrival of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)— the Central American holiday that honours those who have passed— restaurant brand Mexico is offering an honorary set menu on Tuesday 1 November.

The three-course menu includes Pan de Muertos, a traditional Dia de los Muertos dish that translates to 'bread of the dead'. Executive Chef Peter Jackson's interpretation of the mini sweet buns come rolled in coconut cinnamon sugar with xocolate vanilla creme and Xocolate migas.

Further menu items include an agave, spinach and queso-spiced pumpkin empanada and plancha barbecued negra chicken with apple mole. Items can be ordered individually or as a set menu for $30. Mexico also welcomes a 12 month aged Anejo Tequila to the menu— the first of its kind in NZ.
