In addition to its thriving reputation as a first-rate wine producing region, North Canterbury's food scene is something to be marvelled, hoisted up on a silver platter and wolfed down with finesse. The region has a strong stance with using local and sustainable produce, as seen with ConversationNZ, a Canterbury-born movement with an aim of highlighting the quality and vast array of edible resources available in New Zealand.

A select few will get the chance to sample some of those South Island treasures next month as Waipara organic vineyard Greystone Wines join forces with Auckland restaurant Meredith's for a collaborative feast. Paired with Greystone's Pinot Noir and Erin's Chardonnay, Head Chef Michael Meredith will whip up a six-course dinner showcasing some of North Canterbury's best produce, including: Waipara summer truffles, North Canterbury lamb, Whataroa purple potatoes, biodynamic spelt and olive oil.

Two evening sittings are available on Wednesday 22 February at $165 per person. Make your booking by contacting Meredith's Restaurant on (09) 623 3140.
