Paying homage to our nation’s rugby team and their forthcoming quest to defend the world championship, private driver service Uber are bringing one of their fanciest ride options to Auckland.

UberBLACK was the original function of the global organisation, an on-demand transportation service allowing users to feel a wee bit special by taking a journey from A to B in a sleek high-end vehicle.

From Friday 18 September until Saturday 1 November (between 2pm and 2am, Thursday – Saturday), Auckland users will have the option to select the BLACK upgrade on the app and roll up to their next destination looking like a baws. In this case the pimped out rides will be a brand new fleet of Hyundai Genesis.

Fares will make a slight incline to $3.70 per kilometre with a $12 minimum fare, though every ride will donate 10% to charitable trust KidsCan.
