Philip Johnson’s E’cco Bistro is a Brisbane institution that offers you the ultimate dining experience.
Philip Johnson’s E’cco Bistro is a Brisbane institution. Since 1995 the award-winning restaurant has remained a relevant fixture on Brisbane’s eating scene. At E’cco you are met with the ultimate dining experience: charismatic and welcoming staff, warm and inviting décor, and faultlessly delicious meals.
Johnson makes seasonal menu changes according to what produce is at its best. He keeps his regulars happy by sticking to signature dishes like the truffle oil field mushrooms – an entrée so flavourful, it is often difficult to choose one of the alternative options because you know how happy this plate of food will make you.
Johnson’s style in the kitchen is to highlight the simple and succulent pieces of meat or fish that he serves (or often a cheese-based dish for the vegetarians) with the most flattering accompaniments and sauces. Every plate of food at E’cco is prepared with the perfect arrangement of flavours and textures. If he were a contestant on My Kitchen Rules, he would pass Manu’s ‘where’s the sauce’ test with flying colours.
In 2010, Philip and his team added E’cco Bar, a boutique bar located on the street below the bistro. E’cco Bar is a cosy bar with top shelf drinks, and is the perfect spot for an after work drink or pre-dinner cocktail.
The whole E’cco experience is a happy one, leaving you feeling delighted and satisfied.
