Overview

With the American food frenzy that is currently traversing Brisbane’s suburbs, Southern Attitude brings a humble slice of the South to Oxford Street, Bulimba. The team's love for all things Southern shines through the drinks and the decor.

Shakes, soda pop, iced tea (naughty and nice), cocktails and a substantial collection of whiskey fill the pages of the drinks menu. If your thirst is for meat, you’ll find the food menu in the longhorn-shaped holder adorning your tabletop. Just raise your flag when you’re ready to order, and the staff will be more than happy to oblige.

Most of the menu is served deep-fried or smothered in a deliciously Southern sauce (like Tennessee Whiskey BBQ) — or a combination of the two, which is totally fine by us. Kick off with classics like cornbread served with molasses butter ($3), or the fried dill pickles served with sweet radish sauce ($7). Nibble on some wings (three full wings $7.50), gnaw on a hot dog with jalapeno and guac ($9), or get your mouth around the ample choice of sandwiches and burgers ($14).

For some real southern comfort, check the BBQ and Southern specials. Make a mess of a plate of ribs (beef or pork, $25), fill up on the molasses braised pork belly ($24.5) or try your luck with the 'chicken fried chicken' ($22.50). Just like the real deal, servings are generous and all mains come with your choice of two sides. Sweet potato fries, blackened corn and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale onion rings are no brainers.
