Overview

We've all been told not to sweat the small stuff, but sometimes, something great happens when you focus on the little things. Looking closer and peering deeper can reveal bigger thoughts, feelings, reflections and insights. When you name your exhibition mote, that might be what you want audiences to discover.

mote is a collaboration between Queensland College of Art alumnus Ally McKay, Tess Mehonoshen and Naomi O'Reilly, as well as the first exhibition of the year to grace QCA's galleries. The three will display work that contemplates just what the title suggests: "a tiny piece of a substance; a speck: the tiniest mote of dust", as they put it.

Catch the end result between January 11 and 28, or stop by on two separate dates for a more extensive viewing experience. Join in the opening night festivities on January 13, or drop by on January 21 for tea, talk and poetry, with the artists in attendance.
