20° & PARTLY CLOUDY ON TUESDAY 23 DECEMBER IN BRISBANE
Treat yourself to some weekend reflection amidst the mirror-laden walls of Anouk

Anouk is a good illustration of why Paddington has the reputation of being Brisbane’s top brunch suburb. The winding road along Given Terrace is the ultimate place for a weekend morning stroll, with its coffee stops, boutiques and restaurants. Anouk is the perfect place to begin or end one of these lazy weekend mornings and serves up one of the best breakfasts in town.

The large dining room has an industrial feel, with its high ceiling and worn concrete walls. Large mirrors hanging on the wall open up the space further, and the all-day menu is written neatly onto large chalkboards as well as typed onto the paper menus. Huge windows look onto the outdoor dining area on the walkway of Given Terrace, which make for prime people-watching seats.

The menu is a mix of classic breakfast dishes and Asian fusion lunches, such as the duck tacos. The breakfast menu officially closes at 12.30pm on weekends, but there are usually a few breakfast-like dishes on the all-day menu. The coffee at Anouk is Merlo, and the range of fresh juices and shakes is perfect for a summer morning.

Anouk is a local favourite, and gets very busy on weekends — so arrive early for the good seats or be prepared to line up. But, rest assured, the wait will be worth your while.
