Overview

If you're in the vicinity of Elliott Street in Woolloongabba, you're bound to spot the suburbs's new cafe — even if you're barely paying attention to your surroundings. With a brightly coloured mural on its exterior walls, let's just say that it stands out.

That's the attention-grabbing packaging — and yes, the food offerings will catch your eye (and stomach) as well. The usual early morning options are available at Shawty's Espresso, including toast with or without eggs, avocado and fetta. However, whatever time of the day you're stopping by, you're probably going to want to grab a bacon, egg, mozzarella and chutney filled brekkie bagel, an I Heart Brownies treat or a homemade slice of banana bread.

Of course, you don't name your cafe Shawty's Espresso without serving up hot cuppas as well; in fact, whether you like coffee or tea, you'll more than warm to their range. The former comes courtesy of Supreme Coffee, while the latter features loose-leaf varieties from The Steepery, including a zesty, fruity melon and lychee green tea. Yum.
