Overview

Get down with the Gallimimus and boogie with the Brachiosaurus at the Melbourne Museum Saturday nights throughout August. A tie-in with the ongoing Jurassic World exhibition — which features some of the most life-like animatronics outside of a Hollywood blockbuster — the Jurassic Dinosaur Disco series will see the museum stay open late, with guest DJ Dinosaur Dave on the decks. So shake the lead out, you old fossils, and dance like you're about to go extinct.

The prehistoric party starts at 6pm every Saturday, with the exhibition itself remaining open until 7pm. Entry to the disco is free but you can book your exhibition session online, and then bust a move to a mix of "all the dinosaur song favourites mixed in with disco greats" afterwards. Naturally, dinosaur-inspired dance moves are highly encouraged.
