Overview

Never been to the opera? Well, Opera Australia is giving you the perfect chance to make your debut. Not only is their current production of Puccini's La Bohème known as one of the most accessible of the operas, but to celebrate their 100th show on Wednesday, May 25, they're giving away 100 tickets for 100 cents. We've done the maths, and that equates to just $1 per ticket.

Of course, tickets this cheap don't come easy — you'll have to line up for them. The tickets will go on sale at the Arts Centre box office from 10am on the morning of the performance. It's cash only and there's a limit of two per person.

The initiative is all part of Opera Australia's aims to make opera more accessible to people who might not usually be able to afford a ticket. And for just one solitary bone, it's cheaper than basically everything else you might be doing on Wednesday night.
