Overview

Sweet tooths, assemble. Pastry chef Pierre Roelofs and his team of wicked enablers have resurrected their legendary Dessert Evenings, shattering our halfhearted plans for a relatively healthy end to the year like the crust on so many crème brulees.

After five yearsat Cafe Rosamond in Fitzroy, Roelofs' dessert extravaganzas have recently made the move to Adriano Zumbo's Fancy Nance in South Yarra. Hosted every second Thursday, diners can expect a four-course degustation — the catch being that all four courses are dessert.

The menu is top secret and changes every time. We can tell you that the last one involved mascarpone, strawberry, honey, orange, cardamom and speculaas, plus a deconstructed bread and butter pudding served in a test tube. Roelofs will also be offering a gluten-free option on October 29, and a vegan option on November 26.
