With their fingers already dipped into a good deal of Auckland restaurants, hospitality company Hipgroup have decided to expand their reach into the retail industry by opening a new grocery store in the seaside community of Kohimarama.

Boasted as a "7-day farmers' market", The Good Grocer will follow the company's already well-practised ethos and rigorously preached philosophy of supporting locally grown produce. Bread is baked fresh by their own qualified bakers; a delicatessen features cheese made by their very own cheese maker; fruit and vegetables come from the company's farm just outside of Auckland within 12-24 hours of being harvested, and an ice cream cabinet stocks 18 flavours of house-made gelato courtesy of life altering dessert restaurant, Milse. The store's onsite butchery also shoots above and beyond your average supermarket meat jumble by offering wagyu fat covered dry aged varieties and beef and lamb farmed exclusively in Katikati.

Also, realising that some of us lack even slightest amount of ability in the kitchen, a range of preportioned meals created by Hipgroup chefs, will be available in store. One of them, Chicken Cotoletta with kale, radish and goddess dressing, has even appeared on the menu at garden-to-fork eatery, Ortolana.

The Good Grocer is open from 7am to 8pm, 7-days a week.
