More than just a culinary buzzword.

Overview

Street food isn't just a culinary buzzword, though you've likely heard it quite a bit over the last couple of years. Sure, Australia has only jumped on the bandwagon relatively recently; however people have been tucking into ready-to-eat treats sold at markets and by mobile vendors for centuries.

Street Food Asia celebrates that tradition, as well as one of the continents best known for quick and tasty street-side fare. The family-run Stones Corner restaurant might bring the food style indoors, but it aims to serve up a best-of menu of Malaysian, Chinese, Thai, Indonesian, Japanese, Indian, and Singaporean cuisines.

Think prawn Pad Thai, Singapore noodles, duck Massaman curry, Malay laksa and Chinese honey soya chicken all available on the same menu, alongside appetisers such as Yakitori chicken wings, spring rolls and curry puffs too. Yes, choosing what to have is going to be a problem. You can also choose whether to eat in or takeaway — aka enjoy a sit-down street food experience, or take the deliciousness with you.
