Following a seven year hiatus from the country, Joe Helmore has started exhibiting his work in New Zealand this year. Check out our interview with him here.

Tiger Beer New Zealand has commissioned Helmore to create an artwork that depicts a tiger in one of his many unique contemporary styles.  He has given this piece the daringly creative title "LIQUEFYING BOWELS OF THE WORLD".  Reluctant to explain the title further, Helmore simply says: "Everything in the world is in a melting pot".

This large colorful painting has a strong presence, which seems to be the result of high tonal contrast and the bold graphic style.  The tiger has an imposing stance and ominous shadow that adds to the dramatic effect. The dark mustard, rich blues and pastel pinks soften the mood and give the work an overall sense of elegance.
