Overview

Christchurch-born dream-pop band Yumi Zouma are returning to New Zealand to complete their autumn tour, promoting their debut album Yoncalla which was released last May.

Signed to labels Cascine (US), Rally (JP), and Arch Hill Recordings (NZ/AU) the group continue to woo audiences with their melodic synths and laid back vibe. When starting out, the band never intended for their music to be performed live, but with the hounding of fans wanting to see them in real life, they caved.

You can see why this was a big step for the four-piece. The times of being a united group was abruptly severed once the Christchurch earthquake hit, leading the group to scatter across the world and use Dropbox as a means to connect and create their music. It appears that the conflicting time-zones only enhanced their work.

While Yumi Zouma haven't disclosed a lot about what we can expect from their home country tour, we know we're in for a good night out. Christie, Sam, Charlie and Josh plan to work on their second album following the tour.
