Never afraid to throw a spanner in front of the humble cookie, Moustache Milk & Cookie Bar are now delving into the world of cuisine for animals by launching a cookie for dogs. For three days, or until stocks last, the pooch bikkies will be available at both Moustache's Auckland and Wellington locations.

Looking much like the delicious human version, the canine cookies come topped with dog-specific chocolate and included pumpkin in the recipe. Just be sure you know which is which when it comes to chow time.

The snack isn't the first oddball creation from the cookie aficionados; they've previously created ice cream cones made from cookie dough, a cake constructed from giant cookies, a cookies and cream ale alongside beer experimentalists Garage Project and a cookie variation called Marmite Cheese & Chips.

Moustache has also been through all possible scenarios in the past to keep the cookie dream alive, including a 7,847-strong petition against their landlord to prevent a ridiculous rent hike, crowd funding to support their next move while living off the shoestring budget of $5 a day, and raising $90,000 for a ten-metre cookies bus.

After their frequent comings and goings and the transition from permanent location to a 1978 Bedford bus, Moustache can now be found at 34 Princes Street, AU Quad, Auckland and 7 Marion Street, Wellington.
