Before getting onto how beautiful the decor of this Cuba Street Cafe is, with its high ceilings and charming paisley wallpaper, we've got to talk about the porridge. Creamy, sweet and dotted with Pedro Ximenez-soaked raisins, it’s get-outta-town delicious.

Along with their famous Goldilocks dish, Floriditas serves up a surprisingly varied breakfast menu. Unlike other cafes, which can be quite cooked-breakfast heavy, here, you’ll find lots of fresh, light options. They’re also open for lunch and dinner, so you don’t really have an excuse not to pop in for a meal of some sort.

Floraditas is spacious and light with beautifully white-tiled walls. It’s the perfect place to hide away when the Wellington weather decides to throw its toys. What’s more, unlike the slew of places that refuse to take bookings, Floraditas will jot your name down for most meals. And there’s no surcharge on public holidays. We like that.
