No trip to Kangaroo Island is complete without a winery visit (or few). One you should hit is Bay of Shoals Wines, which boasts the closest vines to the sea in the southern hemisphere. Located just a five minutes' drive from Kingscote, the vineyard, winery and cellar door offers tours, hamper lunches and wine tastings of its award-winning vino. The cellar door is open from 11am–5pm every day, pouring everything from riesling to oaked chardonnay, rosé, sparkling whites and reds, pinot noir, shiraz and cabernet merlot. Better yet, you can also stay there, with glamping tents available, which overlook the coastal vineyard and cost $180–200 to hire. To book, head here.
