Overview

For those whose holiday isn't complete without a trip to the spa, look no further than the ancient Roman town of Fordongianus. Renowned for its Bagni Termali thermal springs that remain at a balmy 56°C all year, visitors can soak in the therapeutic qualities of the water sourced from the nearby Tirso River just like the Romans did.

After a dip, check out the ancient ruins of the seventh century San Lussorio Church and the Terme Romane, the ancient baths where you can still admire the mosaiced floors and blue-glass-paste ceilings and walls and states featuring deities from Roman and Egyptian cultures.
