Writers and artists come together to paint pictures with a thousand words.
The Smartest Thing She's Ever Said is an online artistic collaboration with ArtSheSaid and Flavorpill. The project presents an open platform for writers and artists to come together and create a story over three weeks. Since September, there have been four teams which have contributed, each composed of one artist and one writer. The team publishes two posts a day over three weeks, centered around the one phrase as their inspiration: 'the smartest thing she's ever said.'
So far the stories have covered what happens to people across America when technology suddenly fails them, a girl who begins to feel like she's falling apart after she contracts a computer virus, and the experience of somebody breaking into a stranger's house. Each story is unique, and so are the accompanying series of photographs, providing ethereal, sometimes haunting, compliments to each day's new section of the story.
The Smartest Thing She's Ever Said is a perfect encapsulation of how one idea can inspire and manifest itself in such vastly different ways with different people. It's also a really exciting example of the ways different artists and creatives can collaborate using the internet to get their work out to the public.
