The ASB Classic will once take centre court at ASB Tennis Arena in January. International tennis superstars set to show off their prowess include current world #7 Venus Williams, French right-hander Jo Wilfried-Tsonga and returning champion Ana Ivanovic - also known for producing the fifth fastest serve of all time.

As well as the action on the turf, the tournament is known for its immaculate entertainment program. This year instead of opting for the successful Baseline Party, organisers are devoting a full entertainment sector to keep the social fabric lubricated.

Dubbed 'The Serve' the hub will overtake Domain Drive to deliver a mix of everything tennis, music, fashion and food. From January 4 - 16 a lineup of acts will drown out the court side grunts, including performances from Sam Trevethick and P Digsss from The Peacekeepers, Scott Towers and MC Slave of Fat Freddy’s Drop and Isaac Aesili of Latinaotearoa.

The site will also feature the new addition of an oyster and clam bar, a lounge pairing dishes with champagne, tasty treats courtesy of The Grill, Kapiti Orchard Parlour, Heineken and the SOHO Wine Bar.

New Zealand designer Juliette Hogan will host the accurately-titled ‘Ladies That Lunch’ event on Friday 8 January. Guests will be welcomed to dress like a tennis player in all white and indulge in a four-course degustation menu on court; more than likely once the balls have stopped flying.
