The summer concert schedule is starting to fill up. If you're concerned about losing out on valuable beach time, you should consider grabbing tickets to Splore — the 20th edition of the festival will take place along the shoreline and grassy banks of Tapapakanga Regional Park next February.

As well as allowing punters to watch acts from the comfort of their beach towel, the festival is known for its eclectic music policy and advocacy of creative expression. Leading the first artist lineup for the 2019 event are two electronic heavyweights. Off the back of their third album (due late October) UK drum and bass group Rudimental will drop by with their full live show, including a DJ, trumpet player and vocalist.

Joining them on the bill for their first ever New Zealand show will be acid house duo Orbital. Further acts appearing include UK dancehall legend David Rodigan, Australian one-man orchestra Sam Perry, Glastonbury ravers Fleetmac Wood, and Brooklyn duo The Illustrious Blacks.

Local acts announced include Princess Chelsea, The Beths, Jess B, Tali, Ijebu Pleasure Club, K2K, Lady Flic, Benny Salvador, A wb, Linda T, Coolhandluke, Corysco and Mac Mylo (featuring Pharoah Swami).

A further lineup announcement will be made in October, followed by the performance announcement for Splore's Living Lounge.
