Wellington-born institution Matterhorn expanded north earlier this year taking over a historic building on Drake Street (the former location of Libertine). This August will mark the establishment’s first time celebrating Restaurant Month as part of the Chef Dining Series.

To celebrate the occasion, past and present Matterhorn chefs Rob Maybach, Sean Marshall, Dave Verheul, James Pask and Ben Tuhakaraina are creating a five-course degustation to represent the restaurant’s legacy and follow their tagline of, ‘fine dining with your shoes off’. Expect dishes like, Smoked Snapper, Duck Wellington, and Turkish Delight.

Matterhorn's outstanding mixologists Riki Carter, Claire Harlick and Calem Chadwick will also have their time in the limelight, pairing a selection of beverages with the different components of the feast. Wellington-based funk and boogaloo band The Eggs will keep the good times rolling between every mouthful.

The Chef Dining Series is a hot ticket on the Restaurant Month calendar. The weekly event sees internationally-acclaimed chefs join forces to take the reins of some of city’s top restaurants. Other restaurants taking part include Clooney, Cassia and MASU.
