Contemporary Indian restaurant Cassia will play host to a collaboration led by innovation and culinary rebellion this Auckland Restaurant Month.
Sid Sahrawat, owner of Cassia and the fine dining experience SIDART, will open his kitchen to Sydney’s fastest rising culinary talent, Dan Hong. The young chef is known for breaking the rules and follows a food philosophy that focuses on flavour, over presentation; a trait that has led him to run four of the hottest restaurants in Sydney: Ms G’s, El Loco, Papi Chulo and Mr Wong.
Over the five-course sharing degustation, Hong will show off his signature style through dishes like Cheeseburger Springrolls, Sashimi of Yellowfin Tuna, Vietnamese Steak Tartare and a dessert labelled, Dirty Passion.
The collaboration is part of the Chef Dining Series, an initiative that brings together internationally-acclaimed chefs.
