Overview

In typical self deprecating fashion, Tom Scott's latest public announcement was this; “The world’s most average group announce their tour of the world’s most average country.”

Now based in Melbourne, Scott has teamed up with fellow @peace lyricist Lui Tuaisau to form Average Rap Band. This is how the brazen lads describe their new project.

"After their former critically acclaimed, award losing group @peace imploded upon itself due to a collective mental break down caused by a lack of government funding in the psychiatric sector, leading to a series of severe psychotic episodes, Lui and Tom were left alone with nothing but a dream and $12.70 in their Paypal account.

In a feeble attempt to regain their sanity they created The Average Rap Band. With utter naivety and a total lack of understanding of the current popular musical climate they decided the main focus of the group would be the lyrics. An obsolete medium that was made redundant in the late 1990s."

The pair released an EP on bandcamp a few months back entitled Stream Of Nonsenseness and it is far from average. They have ditched the cosmic gazing of their @peace days and found new energy in hard hitting street raps about topics a little closer to home. A steady trickle of Tom Scott social media banter has spread the word about the new project and five videos were released to accompany the five tracks on the EP.

This will be Tom and Lui's first New Zealand show under the name Average Rap Band. They will be supported by EnoxDirty.
