Love them or hate them, oysters are the purest expression of the sea outside the deep blue itself. When fresh, they're light, briny, faintly metallic and go down like slippery heaven. They're the ultimate low-calorie aphrodisiac and pair effortlessly with a glass of Champagne or white wine.
The Grill by Sean Connolly is one spot where you can get your oyster fix without breaking the bank. Every Friday in June between 5 and 6pm the Federal Street eatery will be shucking up a storm, dishing out the briny bivalves for one dollar a pop. There is a maximum purchase of 12 oysters per person per sitting.
If you're in the mood to be extra thrifty, continue the fun next door at Gusto at the Grand for an aperitivo hour (5-7pm) that offers a complimentary snack with any drink purchased.
