Overview

If you're a tactile person who loves exhibitions where you can fully immerse yourself in the experience by touching, wearing, playing, writing and using all paraphernalia on display, then you'll love the Caesar's Rome: Hands-On Living History Experience exhibit.

Not only can you learn all about ancient Roman history, but you can try out a variety of Roman activities including splashing around in a Pompeii Fountain, write on a wax tablet and more.

Hosted by Imperium-Romana for the Auckland Fringe Festival, the collective is comprised of three Roman history enthusiast groups: Legio VI Ferrata, NZ Gladiator School and Civitas Romana. The groups are famous for their re-enactments and displays of the Roman Empire and share their works at events, festivals and offer Roman regalia to hobby shows as dress-ups.

This cultural immersion is fantastic for all ages and will be on for a limited time, so make sure you pick up some tickets, get dressed up in your best gladiator costume and head along to 'The Roman Temple' in Grafton for a fun evening out.
