Overview

Eclectic Kiwi innovator Connan Mockasin is returning home for the first time in eight years, playing a swathe of shows across the country — at some of our coolest little venues.

Pairing dreamy soundscapes with honied vocals and elements of funk, the guitar extraordinaire will be joined by Kody Nielson of Mint Chicks, Opossum, UMO and Silicon notoriety, gracing the beloved stage at the Hollywood Cinema in Avondale for two nights.

Aside from the obvious joy of seeing another Kiwi killing it on stage, we're especially jazzed about the prospect of hearing new material Mockasin is rumoured to have spent the last year working on since the release of his psychedelic sophomore offering Caramel.

Unconfirmed reports from the field involve a concept album called "Jassbusters" and a moving image/sound work known only as "Bostyn 'n Dobsyn".
