Overview

Australian synth-pop band Cut Copy will perform a one-off gig at the Studio on January 24.

The band consists of frontman and keyboardist, Dan Whitford, Tim Hoey on guitar, Ben Browning on bass, and drummer Mitchell Scott. Formed in Melbourne back in 2001, the group were assisted by musical maestro Robbie Chater of The Avalanches, and together produced seven largely instrumental tracks.

The group won breakthrough success with their second album, In Ghost Colours, with groove-led tracks 'Lights and Music', 'Hearts on Fire' and 'Take Me Over'. There's a strong Avalanches influence in their sound with funky driving riffs and dream pop-style vocals.

Of late, the group has been touring the festival circuit, playing Coachella, Lollapalooza, Primavera Sound, Pitchfork, Splendour In The Grass and Summer Sonic. They've also been awarded two ARIAs and been nominated for two Grammys for their polished, well-received dance tracks.

This is your chance to see them perform their latest album Haiku From Zero live before they head back to Aussie.
