Overview

After the release of their second album Celebration Rock, Canadian punk-rock duo Japandroids successfully toured the globe performing 200 shows in over 40 countries. After capturing New Zealand's hearts in 2013, they're set to make their long-awaited return to showcase their highly-anticipated third album, Near to the Wild Heart of Life.

After an extensive world tour, the pair from Vancouver freed themselves from the tentacles of touring and didn't perform for three years. During this time the two-piece made up of David Prowse (drums/vocals) and Brian King (guitars/vocals) worked on their third album in Toronto, New Orleans and Mexico.

The high-energy duo are known for their wild, fly-off-the-handle rock performances, but next month they'll be shaking up the stage in a different way. As they bring an inspiring, passionate burst of poetic rock and roll to both Auckland and Wellington.
