Overview

The man hailed as New York’s future rap prince, Joey Bada$$, will play one show in Auckland this December.

Bada$$ was previously scheduled to arrive on our shores earlier in the year as part of hip hop festival The Movement, which was put on the shelf one week out from taking place at Vector Arena. Come December 6, the 18-year-old rapper will be joined by fellow New Yorker The Underachievers at Auckland's Powerstation.

Bada$$ has been at the forefront of a new wave of rappers to come out of the East Coast since gaining the attention of Cinematic Music Group president Jonny Shipes with his introspective lyrical form. Alongside his hip-hop collective Pro Era, he has released three mixtapes 1999, Rejex and Summer Knights, all to critical acclaim. A debut album titled B4.Da.$ is in the pipeline and due for release early 2014.
